The College Hospital, located on the campus grounds, is the clinical center of Fukuoka Dental College. As an educational institution and a place for clinical training, the hospital is also a key medical facility for the people of the region.
There are thirteen dental clinics, such as General Dentistry, Geriatric Dentistry, Visiting Dentistry, Operative Dentistry, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Dental Implantology, Oral Surgery, Sports Dentistry, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Dentistry for the Disabled and Orofacial Cosmetic Surgery.
In addition to dental clinics, the hospital also offers nine medical clinics; Anesthesiology (Pain Clinic), Internal Medicine, Psychosomatic Medicine, General Surgery, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Surgery, Pediatrics and Orthopedics. It is equipped with the latest medical equipment including CT and MRI (including MRA) scanners, and provides both outpatients and up to 50 inpatients with state-of-the-art medical treatment.
The hospital also offers special dental treatment for the elderly patients or the patients with stomatognathic diseases who require special treatment above and beyond dentistry. In cases like these, sophisticated medical reference and treatment may be required to deal with medical problems accompanying the dental problems. The physicians and staff at the hospital train and educate the students of Fukuoka Dental College to master the latest medical techniques and knowledge to serve the local community as oral physicians.
