Section of Bioengineering

The section of bioengineering in the department of dental engineering teaches the basic concepts of material and dental material science to undergraduate and graduate-course students. The faculty focuses on how composition and properties affect the manipulation and use of dental materials in the clinic and the laboratory. The objective of bioengineering course is to reinforce the students understanding of the physical, chemical and mechanical properties of inorganic, organic and metallic dental materials.

Research project

  1. Development of artificial bone substitutes with superior osteoconductivity
  2. Fabrication of high functionalized bone cement
  3. Surface modification of various biomaterials to accelerate bone formation
  4. Research on the mechanism of osteoconductivity
  5. Development of adsorbent for blood purification etc.
